The night I decided to step off and offer wedding photography services, I was enjoying a meal with inspiring friends. We were drinking the most delicious bottle of Chianti. The wine label had the coolest bit of art that inspired me to get in the studio the next day and the name of the wine was “When We Dance”. I wanted something original, something that didnt have my direct name in it, something that evoked a feeling when heard and to me When We Dance was the perfect name for what I wanted for my photography business to represent.

Everything about the process of shooting film excites me and adds nuance to the way I capture a wedding day. Film is a process - it requires a deep understanding of the functionality of the camera and the film stock in it - a process I find brings my work to new depths. There are moments through the celebrations I capture that I find are tailor made for film vs other moments I find are better complimented by digital photography. I take a hybrid approach to create one of a kind collections for my clients although it would be awfully exciting to shoot the entire event on film!

With footholds in Philadelphia, PA and San Diego, CA, I am able to offer my artistic services widely. Please inquire if your event is taking place in the Mid Atlantic or Southern California region!

A great question but a tough one to answer! It truly, truly depends on the event, length of time, am I shooting with film, etc. Most 8-9 hour wedding days receive between 1000 and 1200 images. Wedding weekends will receive double that!

Before anyone books with me, I insist on a face to face chat. Whether that be in person, virtual or over the phone, I think its important that we have a conversation, make a connection and feel supported by one another. We will chat about what youre looking for, what your vision is, how y'all met, logistical details and make sure we're a good fit for one another!
After that, I’ll email you a contract and proposal to look over. If it is all agreeable with you, within a few days of signing I ask for a $600 deposit to hold your date paid via check or credit card through an online invoice.

YES. Unequivocally. Folks of all expressions and forms, are safe and at home with me. I believe in aligning my business with my personal ethos so I support the ACLU, Planned Parenthood and devote time towards an incredible harm reduction program here in Philadelphia called Savage Sisters. I believe that by incorporating such values into my daily practices and work, our world becomes better through cultural change. So that is all to say that love is love is love is love and moral obligations are important..
